Background

The F150 Project began with a stock 2018 XLT. The vision for the build was to have a vehicle capable of family camping and effective for extended hunting trips.

Camper Shell

The RSI SmartCap shell was the first addition and kicked the build off. The camper shell is stainless steel and incredibly sturdy. The interior table mount in the roof of the camper shell was added and provides a great location to store a heavy-duty table.

Roof Racks

The journey of custom design and fabrication began with the roof racks for the camper shell and the cab of the truck. The intent of the design was to have single, continuous surface that provides a modular mounting platform for multiple use cases.

The roof rack on the camper shell needed to have provisions for mounting a roof top tent, kayaks, and lumber.

The roof rack on top of the cab was to be used as a standing platform when the roof top tent is installed and for mounting boxes and other items needed for camping and hunting trips.
